Ways to Get Involved
Service Learning
Students participate in academically based and credit bearing service learning courses through the Gold Program. The
CCE offers many service learning courses ranging from 1-6 academic credits and from 10-90 hours of service project work. Through the Gold Program, the
CCE assists in building and implementing service learning components in courses across disciplines.
For more information on service learning, please contact Kristi Wood-Turner in the CCE.
Volunteerism
The
MVP program allows our
WVU students to get the most out of their volunteer experiences. Whether the motivation is building résumés, adding to applications, major requirements, developing self awareness, or just for fun, our students are given guidance and opportunities in terms of volunteer possibilities. Our
MVP program actively seeks out students based on general interest and major relation. We work with all student organizations and clubs, as well as residence halls and commuter students. Our goal is to encourage volunteering in diverse opportunities that make a difference in our community!
There are always volunteer opportunities available. To find one today, visit our Service Calendar.
Special Events
In order to showcase and spotlight the amazing opportunities available with the Center for Civic Engagement, we host events throughout the year. Examples of events include: Make a Difference Day, Random Acts of Kindness, Student Organizations Forum, Week of Engagement, and a state-wide Student Service Conference.
