Kristi D. Wood-Turner is the Program Coordinator for the West Virginia University Center for Civic Engagement. She is ABD in the field of Educational Leadership Studies at WVU with a focus in Higher Education Administration. She has a Master of Arts in Applied Social Research and a Bachelor of Arts in Sociology. As program coordinator of the Center for Civic Engagement, Kristi assists in the creation of learning opportunities through community outreach, civic placements and course development for students and faculty. She is responsible for maintaining relationships with community partners, assessment of university outreach efforts and civic engagement training workshops. As a parent, student and employee Kristi uses her experiences to design and support unique and well-designed learning objectives. She believes the heart of learning is reflection. Understanding the needs of the community and linking theory to practice give the students meaning and motivation toward life-long learning. |
