Kim Liston is a Lecturer for the Division of Social Work and Program Coordinator for MPAACT WV (Mountaineer Partnership Assisting Academically ChalleNGed Teens in West Virginia). As a lecturer, she teaches SOWK 147: Understanding Human Diversity for both MPAACT WV and WVU-Morgantown. As program coordinator of MPAACT WV, Kim is responsible for the administrative oversight and teaching of WVU courses on the campus of the Mountaineer ChalleNGe Academy. Since 2004, MPAACT WV has been a program through the Center for Civic Engagement (previously the Office of Service Learning). Its primary function is to serve as a college-preparatory program for the students enrolled in the Mountaineer ChalleNGe Academy on nearby Camp Dawson in Kingwood, WV. Kim is a WV licensed Social Worker and received both her Bachelor’s and Master’s degrees in Social Work from West Virginia University. Kim inspires young adults to apply three key components to be successful college graduates: direct application of academic coursework, meaningful learning experiences, and service to others. |
