Kimberly Colebank is the Director of the West Virginia University Center for Civic Engagement. She is ABD in the field of Educational Leadership Studies at WVU with a focus in Higher Education Administration. She has a Master of Arts in English and a Bachelor of Arts in Elementary Education. As the director of the Center for Civic Engagement, Kim creates learning opportunities in community outreach, civic placements and course development for students and faculty. She is responsible for university-community relationships, assessment of university outreach efforts and civic engagement curricula consultation. She believes that students who are engaged in their communities are better students, contribute to the strengths of humanity and live more productive lives. Making the connection between the higher education classroom and the real world that awaits students upon graduation is a primary focus of her educational approach to civic engagement. |
