Welcome to the Center for Civic Engagement at West Virginia University!! We believe that the best vehicle for learning is by engaging in empowering educational activities that promote critical and creative thinking, encourage independent thought processes that lead to mutually beneficial resolutions, dispel stereotypes and challenge students to action.
By engaging in civic activities, students have the opportunity to take learning outside the classroom to earn valuable experience in professional settings while having a positive impact on our community, state, nation and planet. Whether through service learning or volunteerism, domestic or global engagement, West Virginia University students have the opportunity to seek out meaningful learning experiences that establish personal, professional and civic growth.
